A post about weather...Vancouver is just not warming up! Come on now, it's June tomorrow and I'm still wearing tights and a wool sweater. Please oh please, I want to feel warm!

Ok, sorry about that.

Some exciting stuff is happening over here at Ana Isabel Textiles...more weaving, more dyeing and a few more stores carrying my designs (more details on that later). Life is good.

My Elana scarf pictured above...this is one of my faves. It's a really weird shape when you lay it flat, reason being I wanted maximum bib bulk (is there such a thing?) I'm a huge fan of the bib and have worked with that design in the past to display other textile techniques.

Hope you're warm, wherever you are.

Please take a peek at my new summer collection called India at Dusk. The focus with this collection was really on all things natural--natural dyes and fibres. This is the first time I have worked with linen (other then in school) and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. There will be a couple more woven pieces to come in organic cotton. Can't wait to show you.

Cooking some yarn and fabric in logwood. I think you'll like the colour palette of the spring/summer collection...some greys, toned lilacs and of course, indigo. Can't wait to show you what I've been up to.

I'm a little behind on the Black Swan love since it was released while we were in India (and there was no mention of it really)...I ended up watching the movie on the plan ride back to Vancouver. I really loved the film but the costumes were so fantastic (brilliant Rodarte!) And of course those beautiful posters...I can't even begin to describe how much I like them. So, this is a little post about how hard I'm crushing on all things Black Swan.

I've been completely obsessed with the Vogue Italia archives...every chance I get, I take a break from unpacking and setting up the studio to check out more photography. I love how each photograph is a work of art...not just about the clothes but more about the feeling of the overall.

More studio set ups to do...
