working away on various things...some projects that I've been thinking about for a while. Experimenting with natural dyeing a la India Flint, inspired by her book Eco Colour.

I have my shop full with various woven and dyed goodies, so please hop over and take a look.

I have a weekend full of dinners with friends and family. How wonderful. The weather in Vancouver has been amazing and warm. Vancouver is in it's full beautiful glory.

Be back soon dear readers.

I've been going hard for the last little while, counting threads, timing dye pots, accounting, blah blah blah...but I also have been doing some fun stuff too (well fun to me anyway)...including:
  •  pulling super soft white hats over my eyes
  • watching numerous hours of Six Feet Under
  • dreaming of the episodes I just watched of Six Feet Under (really, this is a profound show where the acting is amazing!)
  • cooking fancy, time consuming meals
  • picking my neighbour's flowers (just kidding)
  • surfing etsy
  • tweeting
  • reading (just finished The Mammoth Hunters...Ayla rules!)
  • scrubbing things (you know, the floor, the bath tub, pots, pans...it's really rewarding. Whaaaaat?!?)
  • eating berries
  • making ice cream (ok so I haven't broken out the Donvier in a while but I dream of it!)
Ok, kind of a boring list but it's my list and I stand by it.

I had my photo shot and so far the pics came out great. My lovely partner played photographer and aside from a few re-takes we have to do, it went so well. Above is one of my favs even though it's blurry...I wanted to share it.

I'm still a bit uncomfortable seeing myself in the pics but I'll deal...I'm convenient :)

I will be taking part in the poppytalk handmade for back to school (my part, back to school wearables). I'll post the link tomorrow when it's live.

In the meantime, thank you always for visiting my space.

Happy Friday lovely readers. So I received news a little while back that I was accepted into Poppytalk's Handmade Online Market! Yay! It's starts on Monday and no worries, I will get you all linked up before then. I'm a huge fan of the Poppytalk blog, I've been a loyal follower for years now.

Above is a pic of lil ole me with a commission that I completed a while ago. It was basically yardage that I wove that was used in a kids film. I can't really give you more deets then that for now. I really like commission work, it gives me an opportunity to work with materials that I don't normally use and also challenges me to think outside the box. This isn't the first commission that I've received, I have woven baby blankets, rugs, yardage for clothing...basically anything (within reason) that a customer asks for.

Ok, enough out of me for now. I should get down to business. I'm taking pictures of my new work that will be on poppytalk starting on Monday. I'm modeling *gulp* I don't exactly enjoy being in pictures but it's convenient to use myself as a model so a model I shall be.

Be in touch. xo

Later this week I will be photographing all the new stuff I have been making including the 10 foot scarf I have mentioned in two new colours for Fall/Winter. I'm really excited about this! I'm continuing my exploration of natural dyes and have been learning so much.

There will also be some new goodies trickling in the shop as we get closer to September (btw my fav time of the year!).

I'm currently busy in the studio working on some things for Fall and for something else that's coming up, that I will tell you about later this week.

My loom has been super busy...I'm weaving a new series of extra long scarves that I'm very excited about. I will show you very soon.

I have also been cooking up a storm...lots of delicious things including some gazpacho using beautiful heirloom tomatoes. Yum.

be back soon!

This Saturday is the Craft Pride Procession here in Vancouver. Basically, it's an event to celebrate craft and makers...it's especially exciting for me since the group that has but this together are textile artists!

I will be marching and then helping Kt (a friend from textile art school) set up an outdoor tapestry where people can come and weave some lines with fabric (you can bring you're own).

If you're in the Vancouver area, please come march or come visit. Map is on the website.

Friends of ours recently had twin baby girls. I really wanted to weave them some baby blankets, in grey...but thought maybe pinks would  be more appropriate. They worked out great, and so so soft. That second pic is a bit dark, mostly because I often just weave with a spot light right on the weaving, I find that it's easier on my eyes.
