Lots going on in the studio with regards to teaching. My dates for 2019 are firming up so please check that out.
I recently came across something that outlined how people can support artists. Buying their work is one way but things like taking a class or commissioning a piece are a couple of others. With that being said, I also know that not everyone can afford to do those things but there are a few ways you can support artists that don't cost a thing. For example, like amd share their instagram posts, visit and comment on blogs, tell friends and family about their work and classes...you get the picture.
I'm very grateful for the support that I receive everyday from friends, clients, family, past students, followers of my instagram and blog. Big fat thank you!
December already. Can you believe it? I'm working away on a few things...still working on the weaving classes redesign. I'm excited about the changes and also about offering a few weaving afternoons in my studio.
I'm continue to explore this technique pictured above. I'm calling them woven meditations. The intention of these new pieces is to create without attachments and let the materials and techniques take over. So basically to work intuitively which is basically how I've always worked but now I'm putting it into words.
As part of my mediation process in the studio (because I've come to realize that it's all about calming my chatty mind), I often take yarn/thread/materials and place them in bundles and tie a knot. I'm working on translating that into wall art.
